Over the years I have been challenged by the process of creating, writing and visualizing goals.  At first I was self critical and considered that my resistance to goal setting was nothing more than lack of focus or procrastination.  I did not consider that it might be possible that much of the classical concept of traditional goal setting did not in fact resonate with my spiritual intention.

Classic goal setting by necessity incorporates and utilizes the thinking mind.  This I found is in conflict quite often with spiritual intention and present moment consciousness that does not always (or even frequently) resonate with what I feel is in concert with spirit.  So much of goal setting does involve focus on material accumulation rather than the underlying virtue of creating the experience in contrast to obtaining the “thing”.

It occurred to me this morning that it was time to re-evaluate how I approached the discipline of goal setting.  Possibly my reticence and resistance in the past to this process was in reality the result of a lack of resonance, even a conflict, with my spiritual intention and life purpose.

So now comes the opportunity to look with a fresh eye at this goal setting idea.  What would it look like if I felt and resonated with the experience I was intent on creating rather than the numbers or the stuff to achieve in material world of form.  It might be possible that with this shift of focus I might discover the Joy that had been lost and even intentionally avoided in my past experiences of goal setting.  This of course would likely lead to another opportunity to quiet my thinking mind and not make the creating and achieving of the goal another problem for the egoic mind to conquer!

What a concept!  to re-introduce JOY into the equation!

So this is my goal!  To pursue joy and full depth of feeling into the experience of drawing to me what my conscious spirit is willing and ready to manifest.  I invite you to join me.  Lay aside the burden of striving and struggling with its all too common result of “not enough” and even self condemnation.

I’ll let you know how this works out for me….

IN-JOY,

Perry
